"Two Armchairs With La Reine Backrest, Making A Pair, From The Louis XV Period."
Two very beautiful living room armchairs, à la reine, with wide violin backrest, in molded natural wood and sculpted with flowers. The armrest supports are hectic, the legs are curved. One bears the stamp of Antoine Bonnemain, known as Bonnemain the Younger, received master carpenter-cabinetmaker in Paris on July 18, 1753, and worked on rue Saint Nicolas. The second, not stamped, of the same model has however some very slight differences in proportions. They are in excellent condition, both the frames, which have benefited from customary restorations and are thus reliable and solid, as well as the upholstery, which is practically new, covered with a very beautiful velvety raspberry-coloured cotton canvas, impeccable.
