** Circa 1950-1960 **
This pair of rare armchairs with a brutalist character is of great workmanship and offers an elaborate and harmonious form.
The different elements of the frame, although massive, nevertheless adopt beautiful lines with a mixture of curves and straightness. They are assembled in the rules of art by means of tenons, mortises, keys and strong brass screws.
In addition to their elegance, these chairs are also very comfortable, which is also very important to us.
They are now coming out of a 1950's house fully furnished with furniture from that period.
Although we have not been able to attribute these chairs to a specific designer from this period, the cabinet work and design of this furniture really suggests that it is by a great designer that we have not yet identified.
* For information we also have two other identical armchairs, two pedestal tables and a breakfast table by the same designer as these armchairs.
