French work, late 18th century early 19th century Superb watercolourist's box all in painted wood with central decorations of a seaside scene with characters, sides decorated with all different painted heads. Belonging to a painter from Chateau du Loiret of which we know that Hubert Robert (1733-1808) would have stayed there for some time to paint. Box opening onto an interior composed of compartments to accommodate the painting, membership that can be revealed to the purchaser.
