17th century period,
Very large olive green glazed pottery called "coquemare" , decorated with relief pastillages arranged alternately vertically and in spirals,
points stretched all around the neck.
This huge casserole has 2 large handles positioned on same side, allowing its user not to burn themselves when removing the pot from the fire.
The terracotta is fully glazed inside, and some enamel drips from its factory overflowing on the outer wall.
Condition: the piece is not cracked, pierced or damaged, which is surprising given its imposing size.
It should be noted that thickness of the terracotta is less importante on the opposite side opposite of handles, due to its prolonged proximity to fire and its daily use.
But the piece remains perfectly intact and intact.
