"Victor Vasarely-original Sketch-[birth]-1955"
It is one of the few works by Victor Vasarely from his "black and white" period which does not consider that the binary only occurs in terms of finality, but which potentially is charged with a third way, such as that Lacan had already defined it in 1953, in his concept of the ternary, a concept that the latter had borrowed from the sinologist François Cheng. It is not for nothing that Victor Vasarely named his work "Birth" alluding to the great alchemical work of the transmutation of lead into gold, this great principle of psychic transformation which alludes to the concept of individuation of the psychoanalyst Jung. This final phase of the process corresponds in the initiatory tarrot, to the blade XX, symbol of the Last Judgment. Victor Vasarely fits well in the right line of symbolists and initiates.
