Jean de LESPINASSE (1896-1979)
Resistant in the Côte d'Azur during the Second World War, Jean de Lespinasse creates with his wife the SOCFRA which will produce ceramics at the end of the 1940s in Nice. Their route will then cross that of Roger Capron and his wife Jacotte, workshops Madoura, Robert Picault or Georges Tardieu. He and his wife have shops in Saint-Paul de Vence, Sainte Maxime and Vallauris. All the pieces come from his workshop Nice which stops his activity at his death in 1979. He signs "Jdl". The pieces signed by the workshop Jean de Lespinasse are generally large, nervous and very structured. Above all, there is a great work in enamel, between masts and brilliants, which demonstrates a great mastery of the art of ceramics.
