Deruta, a medieval hill in Umbria, Italy, is primarily known as a major center of majolica (tin-painted earthenware) production during the Renaissance and later. Pottery production is documented in the early Middle Ages, although no surviving pieces can be firmly attributed to it before around 1490. It reached its artistic peak in the 15th and early 16th centuries. This piece has been restored. 35cm in diameter 10cm high.
