"Large Enamel Terracotta Statuette - Hindu Woman - In Shiva Meditation Posture - 19th Century"
Large old hollow terracotta statue enamelled in lapis blue. The face, torso, hands and feet are preserved in unglazed unpainted terracotta. The head is adorned with a maroon headdress, it carries around its neck four necklaces of pearls. It rests on a plinth of a moving material that reminds us of the Virgin of the Apocalypse who tramples the dragon, a representation of Satan, with her feet. Dimension: 300 mm x 80 mm Very slight imperfections
