"Cupids With Floral Garland By Bedrich Wachsmann (czech 1871-1944)"
A highly decorative Art Nouveau painting of two cupids with a garland of flowers was executed by the famous Czech genre painter, Professor Bedrich Wachsmann (1871-1944). He studied at the Prague Academy under Zenisek and later in Munich and Dresden. The artist was popular for his genre, his still lifes and figurative paintings as well as his large decorations. Wachsmann designed the interior of the Czech Bank in Prague. He exhibited frequently in Prague in the 1930s/40s.
Inscription: signed with the initials WB and dated 1917, lower right.
Technique: oil on canvas. Nice Art Nouveau frame.
