Splendid still life featuring a basket full of flowers in an explosion of colors. The finesse of the details and the remarkable execution attest to the attribution to this mysterious Venetian painter who preferred to remain anonymous and whom the critics designate as the "Master of the Guardeschi Flowers". This name derives from a series of paintings depicting well-defined floral compositions, with an original pictorial style and extraordinary elegance, whose author remained unknown, but for a long time referred to the great Venetian master. The misattribution, who believed that these stills belonging to the production of Francesco Guardi and his workshop gave rise to the current name. In fact, he is certainly an artist who evolved in the circle of Venetian painters of the '700 but his works are innovative in relation to the traditional canons of still life. His paintings, characterized by an asymmetrical and undisciplined staging, have shimmering colors, the result of a free and loose brushstroke. The extraordinarily vivid colors are enhanced by the monochrome background that distinguishes his works.
