"French School Circa 1810 : Miniature "young Woman In A Landscape""
French school circa 1810: “Young woman in a landscape”, miniature on ivory approximately 7.3 X 5.6 cm, mounted in a blackened wooden frame with a brass frieze 13.2 X 12.7 cm. Signed lower left in a not very legible way: I seem to decipher Desteat, but I did not find an artist of this name. Split frame at the top to be glued and dirt between the glass and the support. This young woman in an empire dress is made using a technique of exceptional finesse, of which the photographs give little account.
