"The Music Lesson On The Terrace, Oil On Canvas XVIII, Carved Oak Frame"
Lovely 18th century painting in oil on canvas representing a genre scene, outdoor music lesson, probably a terrace near a temple. A group of noble people are on the left, listening to the soft music of a musician. On the same plane, in the middle, a dog and on the right a black slave seems to be cleaning something. The scene takes place on a terrace tiled with black and white tiles, a sphinx statue on the right side. In the background, we can see a village with other groups of people. This painting has its original canvas but has many repaints, particularly in terms of the architecture of the building. The faces are original. Finally, the frame is in carved and gilded oak wood (wear to the gilding). Mid-eighteenth century period. Delivery 50 euros in France, 150 euros in the EU and 350 euros rest of the world.
