Uncommon Swiss officer's dagger model M43 -1943, near new condition with its strap, by the manufacturer: SIG Neuhausen, small number. This dagger was mainly made by "ELSENER SCHWYR" and very rarely by "SIG NEUHAUSEN" (mark N under rifle symbolized). The M43 dagger was introduced by decision of the Federal Council of November 4, 1943 of January 1, 1944. Production ceased in 1991 with the highest serial number: 397126. It was only given on the occasion of a promotion from officers and s/offs of the Swiss army and could not be purchased commercially. The wrist is equipped with wooden plates mounted bare between them by 3 round-head screws and split nuts. The side plates in chromed metal which reinforce the handle on the sides come to be inserted in force in the knob of rounded shape, itself fixed to the silk by a nut with three embedded holes. Symmetrical double-edged and chrome-plated blade like the rest of the other metal parts of the dagger, including screws and nuts. This blade bears the hallmark of "SIG NEUHAUSEN" and the serial number of: 27557. Scabbard with identical hallmark of "SIG NEUHAUSEN", in black lacquered steel with leather strap and carabiner. Wrist strap wrapped around the guard in a regulatory fashion, the tassel hanging from the left side of the latter. For officers, it consists of a flat red strap ending in a white tassel topped with a white slider as well.
