If the Kora is the typical Nepalese sword, many examples have been made in North India. This is the case with this weapon.
BLADE: It is very richly engraved on each side with scenes evoking Hindu deities on a golden background. All the characters are engraved with a chisel and not with etching.
We find on one side representations of a Gopi, (the gopi are the servant-wives of Krishna), a representation of Shiva dancing with a sword and a drum, Then the same Shiva under a temple in a representation of his dance of creation-destruction. In addition, representations of plant motifs.
On the other side, after flowers, a Gopi, other flowers then a representation of the god Hanuman; which plays a big role in the Ramayana, and finally a representation of Shiva with 4 arms, dancing under a temple, holding some of his attributes (sword, drum, ...)
The cutting edge of the blade is of course on the concave side , as for all the "koras"
Length of the blade 58 cm
HILT It is made of steel richly encrusted with silver., in the shape of butt, as one finds on other weapons of North India.
It is therefore a beautiful votive weapon, of above average quality, in excellent condition.
