This silk cashmere in very good condition is of a respective size: 240 cm wide by 332 cm long.
The quality of these beautiful ancient natural silks no longer needs to be demonstrated.
One can only be in awe of the work and the abundance of patterns, stylized field flowers, arabesques covering this rug and its borders.
The colors of great softness, are composed of an almost wine red, almond green, pale yellow, pale blue and black causing contrasts while separating the patterns.
The thickness of this carpet is 5 mm, which makes it a flexible piece but whose ground resistance is stiffened by the density of the knots.
This rug in natural silk on fine cotton, hand-knotted around 1970 is in superb condition.
A slight wear gives it a beautiful patina that enthusiasts appreciate.
The region of Srinagar in Kashmir is where these wonders are produced and where they were produced, silks on silk or silks on cotton. India and especially the Kashmir region is not a wool-producing country, hence the little use of this material.
The wool used in India comes almost mainly from imports.
