"Miniature Late 18th: Mother And Son"
Round-shaped miniature on ivory from the end of the 18th century representing a mother and her son on a landscape background. They stand against each other and are richly dressed: the boy wears a shirt with a lace collar, his mother is adorned with jewels. They both have their gaze turned towards the painter, the somewhat shy boy, the proud mother of her son. The colors used are pleasant and contrasting, the attitudes well rendered. This miniature is in a brass frame with suspension ring and folding stand. D: 6.5cm Good condition.
