"Important Bronze "
Large Bronze with Multicolored Patina entitled "La Source", signed Edouard Drouot (1859-1945). This French sculptor is known for his sculptures of allegorical scenes which are characterized by a sense of movement and an impressive expressive touch. "La Source" is a poetic work featuring a sensual young woman, naked under a light and transparent veil, leaning against a fountain. Her delicate and smiling face, surrounded by fine curls, touches the water flowing in a small waterfall. Her gaze falls on pretty flowers that she gently holds in her slender fingers. She seems to admire them taking advantage of the coolness of the water that runs along her body. Surrounded by reeds, the spring fills a large basin from which the water flows endlessly like a metaphor for eternal youth. Voluptuous and graceful, this work by Edouard Drouot is a tribute to beauty and femininity.
