Museum: Hand Bell, Marriage, 17th Century Bronze flag

Object description :

"Museum: Hand Bell, Marriage, 17th Century Bronze"
Astonishing bronze bell body with beautiful applications: between two coats of arms marked with the monogram FL, surmounted by a tied ribbon, a beautiful scene: Garden of Eden, and Crucifixion, in a fine modeling.
Acanthus leaves adorn top of bell, garland of flowers and foliages runs along the border.
Superb bronze work, circa 17th century, probably for a wedding.
I bought the object as is. On dismantling, I could see that the flap was replaced, is later. (It's old and well done). The beautiful bronze handle from the 17th century, depicting an embracing couple, perhaps an old knife handle from the Netherlands has been added. (see last picture). It is quite homogeneous for the eyes.
The bell rings clear, nice sound. Excellent condition, no cracks or chips, beautiful patina. A marvelous and rare object.
Dimensions: 15.5cm x 9.5cm, weight: 440gr .
