"Gambit, The Great Chess Game - Arman - Bronze Sculpture"
Sculpture by Arman representing his destructured interpretation of a chessboard. The pieces are cut in two, welded together, occupying the space in an unexpected way. Sometimes suspended, in other places stacked on top of each other, this balancing act gives a very surprising feeling of movement and accumulation. The cutting also makes it possible to play with the colors of the patinas: brown patina for the exterior of the pieces, verdigris patina for the interior of the pieces or bare bronze revealing the artist's cutting work.
This multifaceted decor plays with volumes, textures and light and can be discovered from all angles. The piece is signed "Arman" on a pawn and numbered 29/70 on its base with the stamp of the founder "Bronze Romain & Fils"
