Demeester came to Brussels (1951) and took courses for a few months at the Academy of Fine Arts. 1961 marked the beginning of his research (point starting point for his current reflection) based, among other things, on the articulation of the planes causing the interpenetration of several spaces. The material becomes lighter and the composition is structured. Ten years later the organization of the painting is purified - the artist finds there his most abstract vocabulary - and leaves white an important place.
