"Pochade: Portrait Of A Gentleman Under The Restoration."
moving little pochade which testifies to the excellence of the practice of amateur painting in the "good" society under the Restoration. We like to think that the author of this pochade made "the Grand Tour" and was pleasantly inspired by the type of profile portrait against a background of Renaissance landscape. In short, one of those little things that better than anything resuscitate in a sensitive way the cultural atmosphere of a part of society at a given time.
