Work Cabinet And Office Table In Oak, Louis XIII Style - Late Nineteenth

Beautiful Louis XIII set consisting of a desk table and a study. The desk table in patinated solid oak has a top with a mitred frame whose perimeter is scalloped with scallops. In the frame we find an important moulding. In the center, this desk features beautiful wine red leather with gold vignette. The belt of the desk is equipped with a drawer carved with an animal head and angles decorated with grotesque heads. Swirls and foliage are also carved all around on a granite background. This Office table rests on twisted legs supported by a mass of wood retained by slab legs. These feet are connected at the bottom by a twisted and turned spacer, composed of several recessed elements on the lateral side. This base is embellished with seven parts of turned wood of different heights. The study is composed of two elements entirely in solid oak. The upper part has a large drawer carved with scrolls pulled by an animal's head. It is flanked by twisted columns surmounted by large macaroons. In the center, two molded doors are carved with large coats of arms on a striated background, surrounded by an oval frame. Inside, we find lockers and small storage drawers. The lower part of the piece of furniture is made up of a framed shelf with a center of wine red leather embellished with a golden sticker. Below we find two mitred doors with a hollow molding accompanied in the center by a relief panel. Inside we find a shelf on rack. This set of two Louis XIII pieces of furniture perfectly illustrates this unique style with its decorations and lighting effects.
