He worked in the studio of Gérome. He appeared in Paris, at the Salon des Artistes Français, from 1887 to 1900, and at the Salon de the National Society of Fine Arts.
Joseph Faverot, very close to the circus world, painted many clown and cabaret paintings. He also specialized in representations of animal life, from small representations to large canvases, his roosters and his hens are often majestic. Our hunting rooster is full of life.
Faverot skilfully masters the colors and especially the movement. The perspective is very interesting, giving the impression that the mice are trying to get out of the canvas.
