"Buddha, In Stone, Burma, 19th Century"
Buddha taking the earth to witness his awakening. Polychromy and gilding on carved stone are encountered quite rarely, with wood or bronze being more commonly used. The Buddha is seated on a pedestal, a lotus in the upper part. The face is imbued with serenity. Slight lack at the end of the ushnisha, height 43 cm.
