This tabernacle door comes from a centuries-old abbey in the Ardennes.
In carved, painted and gilded wood from the 17th century, it is decorated with a putti scene.
Both in profile, dressed in a long red garment that reveals their legs, they hold the chalice of consecration and their childish appearance is made even stronger by the large size of the object they carry.
They take place in an architecture in the form of a columned vault which delimits the scene and thus gives an accentuated relief.
On the back is a painting of the risen Christ above his tomb.
Missing at the level of the lock, remains of hinges on the right side.
In the state with the traces of time and use which do not detract from the interest of this piece.
