Pair of oils on canvas depicting animated landscapes. They are dated and signed lower right "S Lajoye 1823". Frames in gilded wood and stucco with rich decorations of palm leaves. Symphorien LAJOYE is a French painter born June 17, 1773 in Saint-Chabrais in the Creuse. He exhibited at the Salon, between 1822 and 1848 landscapes and rustic subjects. He represented, in particular, sites of Dauphiné and the forest of Fontainebleau. We see him in the museum of Arras "Landscape", and in that of Douai "Moulin à eau".
