Portrait Of A Venetian School Bishop '700

Painting oil  on panel measuring 40 x 30 cm without frame and 48 x 38 with frame depicting a high bishop of the Venetian school of the first half of the 18th century. 

Very curious and refined painting representing an important religious figure of the time; the colors of the robe and stole around the neck are very delicate and have the same colors as the background, against which this figure stands out, denoting humanity, kindness and a sense of loyalty following the most intimate dictates of the Christian religion. 

Also interesting is the coffee table with this bright green cloth with well-designed and colored objects on top, most likely carrying some symbolic value. 

The well-tapered hands together with the good and at the same time serious look are also characteristic of this important character. 

 The beauty of Venetian painting should be noted; even when the dimensions are small, the colors are able to express themselves strongly giving us a sense of peace and harmony, creating a true bond between the character represented here and the viewer.
