Self-taught artist, he fell in love with the city of Nice and became one of the most recognized figures in Nice art. His painting is austere, anxious and chaotic, but also imbued with warmth. Vigny sees the world as a fantastic and tragic spectacle. He paints painful figures, women with unsightly shapes, compositions imbued with mysticism.
