"Bali, Indonesia, Sculpture By Iwj Purne"
Representing a standing Buddha, hands positioned each in front of the 2nd and 4th chakra. I Wayan PURNE, a renowned sculptor much appreciated by Asian collectors, had a reputation for being innovative in his sculptures by giving a very pure style with a lot of curves and always sculpted with a view to transmitting a philosophical or symbolic message which aimed to lead the observer to reflection. This Buddhist representation of the sculptor is the first I have seen. It is a very beautiful collector's item which is certainly between the years 1960-1970. Some of these parts are sometimes found on the market but it is difficult to find them.
