BAVAROIS :Hungarian mounted hunter's sword, 18th century, Carl THEODOR 1780 - 1798. Straight brass knuckle bow at right angles to the curvilinear diamond lug cruise. Straight quillon ending in a small ring followed by a 2 nd with a small peak. Long tail spoon grip cap and rivet. Sheepskin rocket. Curved blade with flat back with 1 gutter at the top and 1 cutting edge, counter edge of 15 cm at the point. Blade bearing engraving on both sides at the height of the 1st third of a floral motif, the word "VIVAT", the monogram with the interlaced number "J; C" and surmounted by a crown. Under the quillon in front of the small ring, the alchemical sign of silver (symbol of fidelity and purity). Sewn leather scabbard with 2 brass fittings, the brass dart of which is sewn inside the leather. Snap button missing clevis, see details in the photos.
