Pablo Rigual (1863-1917) Lovely Bust Of Young Woman In Art Nouveau Bronze Marble Base Yellow Circa 1900

Lovely bust of a young woman in finely chiseled patinated bronze from the Art Nouveau period around 1900. Her wide neckline is highlighted with leaves and hydrangea balls. She wears her hair up on her head in a bun, testimony to the fashion of the time. It rests on a pedestal in nuanced yellow marble called Jaune de Sienne and on a counter-pedestal in gilded bronze, partly shiny and partly matt. Signed on the back "Rigual". Dimensions: Total: 23.5 cm Bust alone: 15.5 cm Bronze base: 10.5 cm x 10.5 cm Weight: 1.450 kg Born in Portugal, this sculptor, of whom he made busts of women his specialty, was active in France during the second half of the 19th century. Good condition. Very slight marks of age, scattered stains that I preferred to leave in order to preserve its beautiful patina of time. The central screw under the base has been replaced.
