(Taken from Wikipedia) Karl Joseph Kuwasseg (1802, Trieste - 1877) was a 19th century Austrian marine painter, who moved to Paris in 1830 and took French citizenship in 1870. Karl Joseph Kuwasseg was born in Trieste. He moved to Vienna where he worked in watercolour. He accompanied the Count of Schomburg on his travels through Europe and America. He produced several landscapes there. His brothers Joseph (b. 1799) and Anton became painters and lithographers, as did his son Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg. Kuwasseg's works can be found in various French museums and in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
