Louis XVI Period Secretary Desk Stamped Nicolas Petit

Beautiful secretary of unusual dimensions stamped Nicolas Petit and JME in rosewood and amaranth veneer. (H x W x D) 108.5 X 112 X 43.5 cm
It opens with a rosewood veneered flap in butterfly wings framed by two tinted nets, one of which is fretted in the corners and an amaranth frame.
Inside, we discover six drawers which simulate eight.
Below, the facade simulating six drawers opens in fours, two large, two small.
The uprights with canted sides are veneered with false tinted grooves.
The sides forming two panels are clad in butterfly wings framed with tinted and amaranth nets.
It is topped with a grooved white veined marble.
Pretty bronzes (regilded) falls, entrances, rosettes and apron. Three-point lock and original locks.
Stamped N PETIT (master in 1761) and JME on the right front upright.
