This pair of angels, Piedmontese work from northern Italy, dates from the 1st half of the 18th century.
Sculpted with strength in a walnut wood with a light or dark part, they are nevertheless filled with softness with their rounded shapes, their calm calm face with fine features and their hair with long curls.
Their gestures, outstretched arms and pointing fingers give a real momentum.
They are dressed in a simple drapery that rests on one shoulder to end in motion at the sides.
This pair is in very good condition with natural cracks and very slight lack due to time. A hand has missing fingers.
Of good size, they are very decorative.
H 87 cm and L 43 cm approximately for a weight of 10 kg per sculpture.
