The scene is very beautiful and sees a young Virgin with particularly fine features, watching over the sleeping Child.
Mother and Son are depicted in a moment of extreme tenderness and in an atmosphere of pleasant serenity. It is a very elegant work with a splendid chromatic range certainly made by Maestro Emiliano to satisfy the request of a private client and gracefully embellish the house for devotional purposes.
The frame is very thick, entirely in pure gold with a slight chisel decoration and gives importance to the painting which makes it very effective on the wall.
