"Pendulum Egyptian Trimming Adolphe Mougin"
Pendulum and its trim consisting of two candlesticks and two removable cups on feet. The clock is in the shape of a covered pot topped with an Egyptian cat with a broken ear (this is neither an accident nor a defect). The dial is decorated with twelve enamel cartridges with Roman numerals. Beautiful finely chiselled needles. Under the dial, a porcelain medallion depicts a portrait of a pharaoh wearing his nemes. Beautiful decor using the repertoire of ancient Egypt. The suspension movement bears the AD Mougin stamp for Adolphe Mougin. Movement revised and in good working order, with its key. The stems of the candlesticks are in porcelain decorated with profiles of Egyptian women each wearing a hawk hairstyle. Two removable displays complete this set. In medallion, in the center of each cup, a portrait of an ancient Egyptian woman. The five porcelain portraits are different. From this set, the candlesticks and cups can easily be used as decoration on a table. The clock and its trim were previously restored including patina fittings. Clock height 42 cm, width 22 cm, depth 13 cm. Height of the candlesticks 21 cm Height of the cups 21 cm, diameter 20.5 cm. Adolphe Mougin was born on August 29, 1835 into a family of watchmakers. He created his watchmaking business in 1870 in Héricourt and received two medals at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1878 then in 1889 and a medal at the Vesoul exhibition in 1877. He died on April 11, 1889.
