Coffered Desk XVIII Eme, Middle Desk, Changer Desk, Louis XV

Splendid coffered desk forming a desk from the middle of the Regency period or very early Louis XV, in solid cherry. Our desk has two side boxes, each of which opens onto storage units with a shelf. Presence of two drawers in belt. The top includes a niche extending on the sides by an elegant rolling sculpture work covering the entire length of the piece of furniture. The rarity of this office is that it is also a middle office. Indeed, the back of the piece of furniture is magnificently decorated with a work of sculpture taking up the decoration of the doors of the boxes, the lower crosspiece is scalloped and decorated with a shell in its center. The eight feet were redone or restored at the end of the 19th century (see detailed photos), customary restorations were also carried out (small fillings, finger joints, etc.). Old traces of xylophages (totally normal for a piece of furniture of this age) are present at the back of the piece of furniture. The locks are posterior. Unit sold with three keys to operate all of these locks. This desk has retained a very beautiful patina.
