Japan, collection of 6 sake bottles (tokkuri) in enamelled stoneware, late 19th Rare series of 6 sake bottles in enamelled sandstone, calligraphy describing the name of the merchant and the place, hand-painted in dark brown to light brown. The manual manufacture of these bottles gives them somewhat irregular shapes. The neck, tightened, made it possible to attach a cord to it in order to bring the bottle back to the merchant who could fill it again. These bottles were closed with a simple cork stopper.
