Aikuchi Koshirae (without Tsuba) Tanto, on an entirely copper base, decorated with strong relief motifs in Iroe Takazogan covered with gold and silver, very realistically representing a snake coiled on a bamboo trunk with multiple growth rings (Fuchi), already aged and adorned with its typical foliage. Very nice contrast of foliage sometimes silver, sometimes golden. The snake in high relief on the frame forms a ring with the trunk of the bamboo in the middle of the scabbard, allowing it to be worn on the belt. And on the opposite side, end of the Tsuka is the snake's head on the lookout in relief. It has a curvature at the tip of the blade, a form highly appreciated at the end of the Edo period.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE NETSUKE AND THE OJIME, which are attached by a small cord to the body of the snake acting as a ring :
Very beautiful and old round Netsuke (with a diameter of 3.75cm) in finely chiseled bone
Very beautiful and old natural looking Ojime bead
