A donkey's cap , is a conical headgear , with or without two appendages supposed to represent the ears of a donkey .
Shaded brown patina .
Oval plaque bearing the title of the sculpture " En Pénitence " on the bust of the child .
Signature of the sculptor "LECORNEY" on the right side of the bust .
Period XIXth century .
Old cast iron , circa 1880-1884 .

Nicolas Lecornet

Nicolas Lecornet dit " Lecorney "is a French sculptor born in Gourgeon (Haute-Saone) .
His work includes allegories , nymphs , figures of children and young girls that he exhibited at the Salon , from 1880 to 1884 .
To note , " The Kiss of the child " (gilded bronze , 32cm,  Susse cast ) as well as " Spanish with the guitar " (83 cm) .
