Charles Monginot (1825-1900) was an acclaimed French painter and sculptor, particularly famous for his portraits, still lifes and genre works. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris with Thomas Couture. Becomes friends with Edouard Manet until the end of his life.
