Georges CYR 1880-1964 Ailly beach and the lighthouse Watercolor signed lower right located and dated 1928. Born in the Jura in 1880, Georges Cyr moved to Rouen in 1914 and quickly became involved in the artistic life of the town. His participation in regional and Parisian events multiplied until his departure for Beirut where he settled, organizing in his studio a kind of Academy of Fine Arts. His fast and uncluttered manner finds its full maturity in his watercolors which reveal a keen sense of the essential.
