Fan Napoleon III Gouache Paper Of A Galante Country Scene

Napoleon III period fan, with frame, comprising 20 chiseled strands pierced with stylized foliage, enhanced with brown tone. The sheets of gouache paper show on the front side, a scene with seven characters in the park of a castle, and on the back side, the view of a body of water. The animated scene of 3 young men and four young ladies takes place in the wooded park of a castle, in the foreground a piece of water. The young people chat, two slightly apart are already flirtatious. The scene is very colorful. The edges of the sheet are decorated with brown foliage and multicolored bouquets. The rear stage presents a perspective in nature, a frail wooden bridge spanning a river, which extends in the background into a lake bordered by willows. The condition of the fan is average. The first strand has a splint at the base (see last photo). The 4th strand from the right has undergone a restoration (see front and back photos of the frame detail).
