Antoine-François Callet (1741-1823), is with Joseph-Siffrein Duplessis, one of the official portrait painters of King Louis XVI and is considered one of the greatest portrait painters of his time. The miniature portrait that we present was executed on canvas by Callet in 1776 and is exhibited at the Palace of Versailles. Marie-Thérèse-Louise de Savoie-Carignan, princess of Lamballe, is a princess of the House of Savoy born in Turin in 1749 and died in Paris in 1792.
