An interesting Japanese hibachi or small household heater. Sand was poured into a non-combustible metal insert and pieces of glowing coal were inserted. It is probably made of Japanese Kiri (Paulownia) wood with beautiful thick rings and is additionally covered with maki-e laki decoration. Today, the container can be used, for example, as a cachepot.
