French work, 19th century Sublime duchess all in molded and carved gilded wood, it rests on six arched legs underlined by floral motifs. The very elegant duchess, which made its appearance in France under Louis XV, was used by elegant ladies as a daybed. Many floral and other motifs carved throughout the piece. Entirely reupholstered in the rules of the Art with magnificent floral silk fabric and high quality trimmings, upholstered from father to son since 1880. Entirely period woodwork that has not undergone any restorations, double-sided cushions, has its gilding of original with some wear of time.
