Georges (Geo) Geirnaert is a Belgian artist, born and died in Ghent (1874-1955). He was a painter, draftsman, lithographer, engraver and sculptor. He studied from 1890 at the Academy of Ghent under the direction of Canneel, Jan Delvin and Louis Van Biesbroeck. He painted and drew nudes, portraits, luminous landscapes, forest views and seascapes. As a sculptor, he designed, among other things, busts, figures and nudes. He was also a gifted pianist. He comes from a family of lithographers. His father Louis had founded a printing house in 1842 and on his death in 1887, Georges, then aged under fourteen, had to take over the management of the business. He often exhibits with his daughter Marie-Louise (Miton). It is mentioned in "Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists" (piron)
