Oil on canvas - The Gulf of Morbihan - by Louis Rosan (1926 - 2017) Born in Amiens, France, Louis Rosan studied art at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Amiens from 1941 to 1944. He graduated from the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1947. He won the Painter's Prize in 1956, Winner of the Vikings Prize in 1957, Winner of the Feneon-Universite de Paris Prize, in 1961, Winner of the Taverny Prize , in 1973. He was also invited to the Premiere Biennale de Paris, in 1959. Louis Rosan participated in exhibitions in all the major Parisian salons, and was a member of the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Indépendants in Paris. He also had collective and personal exhibitions in Vannes, Amiens, Grenoble, Tehran, New York and Palm Beach. Signed lower left Visible at the Galerie Courcelles Antiquités, at 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
