A sculpture representing Guanyin (Sanskrit: Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara). Guanyin is a bodhisattva embodying compassion; its name means "to observe the sounds", that is to say to listen to the requests. The sculpture is made of lard stone / soapstone with great finesse and great attention to detail. Guanyin holds a vase of flowers and stands on a base with a frieze of lotus leaves.
