"Pair Of Louis XV Style Armchairs In Rosewood (possibility Of A Third Armchair)."
Very nice pair of armchairs with a large flat back called "à la Reine". They are Louis XV style, made in rosewood from the Napoleon III period. The four legs are arched, the two front legs are decorated at the top with a flower pattern and rest on two bronze casters. The belt is slightly scalloped, the front crosspiece is embellished with a stylized and foliated cartouche. Fiddle-shaped, the top of the backrest is embellished in its center with a shell lined with flowering foliage. Two acanthus leaves adorn its shoulder. These seats have an extremely solid structure, the upholstery has been completely redone recently by an upholsterer, the covering fabric is a very beautiful velvet with floral decoration on a soft yellow background. We would like to recall the preciousness and beauty of the grain of the wood used for these seats, produced in the second half of the 19th century. A third armchair identical to this pair is available for sale at a price of 990 euros. Shipping costs contact us.
